2nd phase Baraka has started!

In mid-August we have started the 2nd phase of our project Wash Shower & Go in Baraka, Matsangoni. In February, Foundation Flo Flo had made the well and installed the water pump on our orders. We carry out the 2nd phase with the local population. They know the area and the situation at that location. And at the same we create work for inhabitants of Baraka again.

They are working hard
While we enjoy a snack and a drink in the garden or on the terrace with this nice weather, the people in Kenya are working hard to establish the building with public showers and toilets. Really fantastic! The septic tank is laid out. The foundation is ready. Over 2,000 stones are delivered and neatly ranked. The stone windows annex ventilation grilles are supplied. A truck dumped the cement. And meanwhile, the construction is already pretty advanced. It is intended that the work is ready in mid-September.

To the wishes of BIS and Pamoja Kenya
Philip Kahindi together with the board in Kenya is supervising the project. (Almost) every day he is present at the work. So he can check if everything runs smoothly and according to the wishes of BIS and Pamoja Kenia. He reports everything to the board in Kenya and to myself in the Netherlands.

On inspection
In mid-September I will go to Kenya. I will inspect our projects. Of course the project in Baraka, too. I also will be there when the governor of Kilifi will open the Wash, Shower & Go officially. I will check everything with my own eyes, so after my trip I can report what we as a foundation have achieved thanks to your contributions.
