We wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a happy and Healthy 2024!

Looking back
The year 2023 was a tough year. Our chairman, Marion van de Voort, was out of circulation for about 8 months due to surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Fortunately, she has fully recovered.
Thanks to our fantastic team in Kenya led by Philip Kahindi, the implementation of our projects has not suffered. Our team in the Netherlands has also been able to cope with this. The donors, fundraisers and organizations have fully cooperated. We thank you for this.

Projects
Foundation Pamoja Kenya has become a household name in Kenya, in Africa and in the Netherlands and we are extremely proud of that. We follow the agenda of the United Nations: women empowerment, food security, water and hygiene.

In 2022 and 2023, we were able to carry out 3 projects. Water and Sanitary facilities for the schools and residents of Madeteni (primary school) https://youtu.be/40Y5KS4W0u4 and  Roka (secondary school) https://youtu.be/Q0O8FtehuDE in Matsangoni, Kilifi county in Kenya.

Another fantastic project we have carried out this year is our ‘Rainwater Harvesting Project’ pilot. We have built an underground water tank in which 70,000/70 cubic litres of water can be stored. The work took about 8 months and the result is fantastic. https://youtu.be/3QC3gli6awY

In this project, a 2,100 WATT power plant has been installed with 6 solar panels, in addition, a water tower and a water tank have been installed on the underground water tank.
The power plant is equipped with gutters all around that are connected to a water pipe, which collects the rainwater and guides it via the water pipe to the underground water tank.

At the power plant, people can charge their phones, connect devices such as drills etc. for various activities, there is also a space for training on agriculture and hygiene.

In addition to the power plant, we have built a vegetable greenhouse, the power of the irrigation system is also drawn from the power plant. Crops such as tomatoes, zucchini, green beans have already been planted.

Our focus is that this project can be implemented in any area where there is a lack of water.

We have now completed 23 projects and have been able to provide 30.000 families with WATER & Sanitation!! NO WATER NO LIFE!!

As with all our projects, residents can use the facilities for a fee. With the proceeds of this, the projects are maintained, it is the responsibility of the population itself to maintain the projects. On average, we go to Kenya 1-2 times a year to ensure that the projects still meet all requirements. Transparency is our strength, so donors always know what they have donated for.

Local Government
Because we work together with the local government, we do not (in principle) have to buy any land (€10,000/ €20,000) in order to be able to carry out our projects. In Kenya, you always have to buy the land to be able to carry out a project. We can save these costs and focus our fundraising entirely on the projects we are recruiting for.

BIS
We are proud that after 8 years of cooperation, we officially entered into a partnership with Bureau Internationale Samenwerking in 2022, without their trust and support we would never have been able to achieve so much.

Wild Geese
The support and cooperation with Wild Geese has led to the fact that we can grow and continue to carry out our work. We are also extremely proud of that.

Hendrik van Dijk Fonds
We are extremely proud that the Hendrik Van Dijkfonds has been our regular donor for several years, this is very special. They have designed ‘shields’ that will be placed on the projects in Kenya where they have donated.

Flora College
The Flora College in Naaldwijk has made a commitment with us and, together with another charity, has chosen us as a fixed charity to donate annually with the proceeds of their annual Christmas market that they hold at school, with various articles made by the students and/or donated by companies and shops in the area.

Student association Lamento
We received a nice donation from the student association Lamento from Utrecht so that we could carry out our project at the schools of Madeteni and Roka.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a healthy 2024!!
We are grateful to everyone who supports us and cares about us. We greatly appreciate the commitment of our volunteers in Kenya and in the Netherlands and do not take them for granted. We just continue with our new projects.
